Livermore Rotary Interact Club Participates in Community Service Day

On Saturday, September 19, Interact students from Livermore High School participated in the City of Livermore Community Service Day. This annual event provides service opportunities for all community members. Projects include painting, yard clean-ups and other tasks, focusing on community members who need assistance. More than one thousand people volunteer each year!

Members and officers of the Interact Club participated as part of the "LHS - Cleanup" section of the 2026 Community Service Day. There, the students aided in various projects on campus, such as wiping down the tables, chairs, and cabinets in classrooms, as well as picking up waste from around the campus. A teacher even reached out to one of the students following the event, appreciating them for making the room so much cleaner. The Rotary Club of Livermore sponsors the Livermore High School Interact Club and we look forward to supporting them on their upcoming projects. We can always counted on them to help out at our events!

Back to School Night BBQ at Marylin Avenue School

On August 7, the students and families of Marylin Avenue School were welcomed back with a BBQ dinner! The Rotary Club of Livermore has been doing this for more than 20 years. It began with a request from the Principal at that time, who was having trouble getting parents to attend Back to School Night. Since the beginning, it has been a successful event, with parents and children enjoying hot dogs, chips, cookies, juice and watermelon. Families meet with teachers in their classrooms and then have dinner together. All members of the families are invited, and it is wonderful to engage with our community by sharing a meal.

Over the years, the club has served more than 14,000 meals! We are already looking forward to next year.
